Delightfully written. By interweaving a depiction of flowers and the Scriptures, this book attempts to illustrate how flowers can inspire a Scriptural application of love. Based on Matthew 22:37-40:
"‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."
Some excerpts:
To my wife Nancy – On May 26, 1997, we took a trip to the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario along with another couple. The tulips were still out that day – like trays full of tea cups that were laid out for a Queen, we saw more color than the eye could behold. There were ... read the Dedication

Cosmos – The many soft and delicate flowers of the cosmos, standing tall and wispy, seem to dance with each breath of wind. The leaves are almost hair thin and become unnoticeable in comparison to the flowers. Somehow, the combination of pinks and whites and soft reds, each with a center spot of bright yellow, leads to thoughts of compassion, gentleness, and grace. ... read about the Cosmos

Iris – Hurriedly we have passed by a place – time after time, the beauty of the moment has completely escaped us – until one day, a fragrance rises or the sun radiates or the dew sparkles or the bird sings. Suddenly we stop, "How did I miss that?" we ask, but we know that the surprise encounter is intended to slow us down, to catch something that has been appointed for that moment. Can we afford the time? God has set us aside to capture another essence of himself – we know that the Lord is doing something unique, for it is time once again to catch a glimpse of his grace. ... read about the Iris

"I am amazed at this book – I was deeply touched by it. It is Holy Spirit inspired and wonderful. It seems as if the Holy Spirit wrote it through Tom. I love the common theme of God's love throughout it."

"I really enjoyed the beautiful photos of the flowers in this book, and found Tom's applications to biblical principles fascinating and refreshing. I think you'll enjoy this book too."

Tom's Corner
Tom Clarke Hi, my name is Tom Clarke and I wish I could meet you in person. I am an author / publisher, the Caretaker of the Gethsemane Prayer Garden, and a computer software developer. I wrote this book based on thirty precious flowers from that garden, each one symbolically calling us to respond in intimate relationship with the Lord and the fullness of Christian love.

Please join me in seeing flowers in possibly a new and more loving way: gentleness as represented by the lamb's ear; the peace and presence of our Lord as heralded through the honeysuckle vine; humility being shown in the primrose; and so on.
