Hi - My name is Tom Clarke and I would like to introduce myself. I am a developer of computer software, a gardener and an avid student of the Bible. I was first exposed to chiasms while reading the footnotes of Isaiah 6:10 in my NIV Study Bible. My first book was Joshua's Spiritual Warfare: Understanding the Chiasms of Joshua, copyright © 2008, Bible Discernments. Developing computer software requires the ability to recognize patterns -- I used this pattern recognition skill to help me identify the chiasms in the Book of Joshua.

My second book is A Topical Treasury of Proverbs, copyright © 2008, Biblical Studies Press. This 321 page book includes all of the verses of Proverbs from the Bible, and they are organized by topic. By writing specialized software, I was able to identify 100 topics. Using this software, every verse was related to one or more topics; in this way, the full teaching from Proverbs on each topic is available.

Prayer Gardeners is the name of my ministry with the stated goal to help Christians achieve a higher level of spiritual maturity through a deeper understanding of the Bible and a closer walk with the Lord. Bible Discernments, the publisher of Joshua's Spiritual Warfare, is a division of Prayer Gardeners.

The name Prayer Gardeners comes from the Gethesmane Prayer Garden at my church, Faith Chapel. With the help of many church volunteers, I am the developer and caretaker of this garden. This garden is far more than a pretty place with lots of flowers; it is intended as a place of personal spiritual encounter with our Lord (Gethsemane Prayer Garden).

In 2009, I wrote an 82-page book with photographs and Scriptures based on the flowers in the Gethsemane Prayer Garden. I wrote A Garden of Love from my heart. This book is much more about love than it is about flowers, but the flowers are the starting point. Whether people visit the garden or read the book, my hope is that they would respond in the fullness of that love.

My wife Nancy and I live in Upstate New York, and I have two adult daughters, Laurel and Becky. I experienced spiritual warfare firsthand through the divorce from my first wife and the resulting effect on my two daughters.
