The Gethsemane Prayer Garden at Faith Chapel is a place where people can meet with the Lord. Faith Chapel is a non-denominational church located on Onondaga Hill in Syracuse, NY. The garden is open to Christians of all faiths.
The garden began development in 2003 with two flower beds. This one-acre site has expanded each year, now including nine beds for a total of 8,000 sq. ft. There are 50 perennial flower varieties and several hundred shrubs and trees from forty species and subspecies. The most recent addition is a naturalized area that is adjacent to a gently flowing stream.
Benches are available for a quiet time with the Lord. This garden is more than just a pretty place with lots of beautiful flowers. Rather, the flowers are intended to help soften our hearts so that we may be more effective in speaking to and hearing the voice of the Lord.

The Gethsemane Prayer Garden has been developed and maintained by Prayer Gardeners with a number of volunteers.
King David knew the intimacy of a profound relationship with the Lord. In Psalm 27:4, David wrote:
"One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple."
Our hope at Faith Chapel is that people would visit the prayer garden, seeing it as an outdoor sanctuary. Through the flowers and beauty of God's creation, the refreshing gentleness and inner peace consumes us. Here, we hear our Lord speaking to us as we reach out to Him.
