Many people think that the time to visit a garden is between May and September, but the garden in October can be full of surprises. Sometimes flowers such as the fragrant lavender appear blossoming for a second time. And sometimes a flower so dramatically changes shape or color that it would not be recognized in the fall, and the cranesbill is such an example. Our other garden flowers in October are again the rose, chrysanthemum, gaura, and cosmos.
The burning bush, in its brilliant blood red, reminds us of the awe that Moses experienced in the desert.
"There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush" (Ex 3:2 NIV).
As the Lord spoke to Moses, he was afraid to look at God. But soon Moses learned that the Lord had plans for him and he need not be afraid.
In the same way, we welcome you to this garden, for it is a meeting place with the Lord.
